We have been advised that the production of the BR 4MT 5" coal fired locomotive will be completed during December this year. Entrance to the Illawarra Hot Pot is by means of a donation of three large tins of soup per person. There is a continuous serving of soup with bread rolls etc for most of the event. Breakfast is provided each morning for a small charge, lunch can be the continuous cups of soup and access to a dinner bus can take you to a place for a very reasonably priced dinner. I thought that readers might be interested in this. A tour, largely organized by Jagathsingh of ‘Luxury Tours’, Sri Lanka and my wife was most enjoyable. There were many highlights connected with the tour one of which was the ride on the Sri Lankan Railway from Kandy to Ella. This trip has to be one of the great railway journeys of the world revealing the most beautiful scenery, the tea gardens and water falls.... read more

I attended the Illawarra Hot Pot during the Queen’s Birthday Weekend. We broke the Melbourne to Wollongong South trip by road at Yass and arrived at the Hot Pot at about lunch time the following day.
