Sir Nigel Gresley's A4 (Brunswick Green)
Sir Nigel Gresley's A4, in live steam, in 1/32 scale to run on Gauge One (45mm) track.
This locomotive was designed for the streamlined express passenger services of the LNER in 1930's Britain. The side valances partially covering the connecting rods and wheels were removed for ease of maintenance during World War 2.
This model makes an imposing appearance on the track, the mantel piece or bookshelf. When matched with the crimson and cream premium quality brass coaches you are provided with the iconic look.
An impressive performer with streamlining inspired by Bugatti, aesthetically appealing, converying dramatic intent and delivering surefooted three cylinder power to the track. The characteristic beat of the three cylinders working through conjugated valve gear, is clearly audible as the engine, under load, responds to the steam pressure of 60psi generated by the ceramic burner. This locomotive is capable of hauling a train load in excess of ten of our premium quality coaches.
The model is available with a number of different nameplates.
